Message from Owner

Michael is my best friend. He has been my family and my buddy for five years. He's been with me since he was a kitten. He lives with me and his sister, Janet. They were bonded. We all were bonded. Now that he's gone, I feel a pain in every room of the hse. I see his toys, the empty spot where he slept, the empty spot where he sat with Janet at the window watching birds, the empty spot in my arm where he used to snuggle with me, the empty spot in my heart. Janet has been going into every room of the hse, crying, looking for him. The sound of her meow has changed. It sounds like a real cry now. I had the litter boxes in the basement. They, for some reason, loved the basement, so i thought it would be a good spot for the litter boxes. It ended up being how Michael got outside. I work from home. Normally when I clock out of work, Mikey is waiting for me at the bottom of the steps. Monday, he wasn't. So I started searching. He was no where. The hse was quiet. The hse is never quiet with Mikey in it. He talks. A lot. After I exhausted the search inside, I checked outside. A neighbor saw me and said that she saw Michael under my porch and believed that he must of gotten out through the basement. I walked around, drove around, asked neighbors. He was no where to be found. I put food out and his litterbox thinking of hear him scratching at the door eventually, but i haven't. He's not come home. My heart hurts, missing him, worrying about him. Janet is lost without her buddy. Their names are technically Michael and Janet Jackson. Mikey isn't "just a cat." He's my companion. My support. My family. My friend. He my buddy. That's what I always told him and he responds to the word buddy when he hears it. I always said, I love you buddy, and hed rub his head on me. Now I'm using past tense words when I talk about him and it's breaking my heart. I keep saying, come home buddy. Id give anything for my Mikey to be found

Janice Marshall sadly, no 😔 Mikey has more white in his face and a little white patch on his back. Thank you for sharing. This cat is very similar to what Michael looks like

If he's an indoor cat who got out he's most likely scared and hiding closer than you think - your yard or your neighbors. Look under sheds, decks, porches, cars, in shrubs and garages. Cats are really good at hiding so you'll need to be very thorough when looking for him.

Thank you all kindly for the advice and prayers. My boy hasn't returned yet. Please keep sharing this. I'm hoping that someone out there has at least seen him so that I know that he's ok 🥹

As a trapper do tjis immediately! Definitely leave doors and garage doors cracked open as they will try to get back in.. ! Put his kibble or favorite treats inside the doors. Be home..do this in the dark hours , late night.

As a trapper please try the following ASAP! Do NOT leave trap unattended in this heat. Watch from window or camera. Set humane trap cage ASAP. Indoor cats don't go far. Check under porches, sheds and anywhere they can hide. Talk to neighbors also. Call shelters, humane society and kennels to see if someone dropped them off. Go look yourself too, don't just go by what they say.. they are busy too.. go out at night when it's quiet and no noise, as they are scared. Only you go, not a bunch of people. Take a bag of treats with you. Also, leave a door cracked and garage door cracked open with food inside.. just keep an eye on it, this way they can run into your house when coming home. They usually go to the door where they got out at. Put up cameras if you can. You can buy humane traps at home Depot, Lowes or there's many shelters that will lend you one. Post on all animal sites. Make sure he didn't get locked in someone's garage or shed. Set up a camera or ask neighbors if they can review their cameras.

Buy, rent or borrow a humane trap and set it up asap. It must be monitored, kept in the shade and covered on top because of the weather. Tractor supply, Lowes, Home Depot, and Amazon sell them. Certain animal shelters will rent them out. Keep in mind you may catch a raccoon and you need to know how to release it safely
