Tell your mother to hang some unwashed clothes out so the dog can pick up her scent. If you haven’t already, call police depts. in her area, county and local shelters, vets, with a description of the dog. Some PDs are very helpful about taking info on lost/found pets. Make up large, easily read flyers and post them in her neighborhood. Post a lost ad on nextdoor.com. Visit the local shelters or humane society every couple of days IN PERSON, don't just call. They have so many dogs that it’s easy to overlook one. Good luck!
