Beware of people saying they found your pet and asking for a picture and contact information or codes. Ask them to send "you" a picture of your pet. Not on messenger. If they won't, they likely don't have your pet. Also, comments recommending you go to guaranteed pet trackers through an out-of-area phone number or to another platform are also not real.

Make sure you are also posted on nextdoor. If chipped notify company, lots of bright colored signs up in the area, scented items of pup and owner on porch or nearby.
