Elijah Ball she should NOT go to any rescue. Reputable rescues do not take stray dogs. If you aren't able to hold for the 30 day stray hold, PLEASE take to the shelter. We only have one shelter (Orange County Animal Services).

Elijah Ball Today, the shelter opens at 10am. You can bring her there. That is the first place an owner would look for their lost pet. There are many apartment complexes in that area. Putting up flyers at the entrance/exits and mail areas, of each of them, can be very helpful as well. Since you are new, please know that, in our county, if you choose to hold a found animal at your home, instead of take to the shelter, the dog must be held for 30 days before rehoming, keeping or giving away. It also cannot be vaccinated, tested for anything or receive vet care (unless life threatening) until after those 30 days. The 30 days must be spent continuing to look for the owner. Making more posts, putting up flyers everywhere, etc multiple times throughout those 30 days.

Debbie Grey she wasn't found at the cross streets she was found in a parking lot at publix. The one on kirkman road in orlando. I already took her to the vet. And scanned. No chip. Thats why im posting. And I already called and was told everything is closed. And there is no one to take her in. So she in our apartment. We are new to the area and do not know anyone around here. We are hoping to find her owners as she is extremely well behaved and seems to work and move better then a lot if dogs I have taken care of in the past.

Please add actual cross-streets of where found. Also, please have it scanned for a microchip. There are several emergency vets, currently open, that could do it for free. Unfortunately, the shelter is closed for the holiday, but there is always an animal services officer on duty. You can call the non-emergency police line and ask them to contact the ASO on duty, to see if they can pick him up. If unable to hold overnight, til the shelter opens tomorrow, please ask a friend or neighbor if they can hold it for a night.
