At the top of my page is a pinned post with tips on how to find or return a lost dog. This Facebook post includes links to other local Lost and Found Facebook pages to save you time and effort, as well as links to places where you can report found/lost pets. Don’t forget to look for posts that may already be up for the pet. There's a video link on how to catch a loose and normally scared dog (e.g. calling their name – even by the owner - can send them running the other way if in survival mode, don't chase, etc.). https://youtu.be/cmiZzB643is There’s lots of information about creating a scent trails by WALKING and other ways like putting out your dirty laundry, all so the dog can smell his way home. Dogs can smell up to 11 miles away. In the comments is a diagram of a wagon wheel showing how to lay out a scent trail leading back to your home ……………do this ASAP…………….. 🏃💨 🐾 Petco Love Lost, is a national lost‑dog system that pulls images from all over the USA, the only one that does it well. For a lost hound yes a scent station may work but id start looking in open spaces. Creek bottoms. And homeless camps. Hounds are VERY food driven and if someone feeds her she may stay. Also she is a female bluetick, they have massive stranger danger. Once you get her invest in a tractive. My girls wear one for this reason. Also hounds will travel. Post her ALL over. We had one get to eastern Kansas once. And yes I absolutely know hounds. My dad has been breeding them 66 years and I took over for him. Go to open spaces and LISTEN dont just look. Drive with windows down in the evening and listen. She hears your car she WILL open up. A hound bay can travel 10 miles in open space. I pray you find your baby. Im in multiple Colorado hound groups and ive shared screenshots.

Put a scent station outside. Things that smells like your pup and yourself. If microchipped, notify the chip company that your fur baby is missing. File a lost dog report with HSPPR. Notify local vets in case he/she is brought in.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.
