Leave your garage door open just enough that only he can fit through. Look under sheds and decks if you have them and get neighbors to do the same. Ask neighbors to also check in their backyard and their garage. Go out at night and in the daytime and shake dry food in a container and call his name. Also look in bushes at night with a flashlight. I hope he is found safe soon. 🤞🙏🙏

Chrissy Cooper Gildea I would make sure the microchip information has your correct phone number & address. Keep looking with wet food & treats. I will definitely talk to neighbors that are on the right left and behind you so they can check their yards, trees & bushes. I will also post flyers with picture & your phone number on it so people know your cat is missing. DO NOT STOP LOOKING it just happened so your best chance of finding the cat is NOW!! I would also leave something outside a open door like your dirty socks or the blanket the cat uses. Not the litter box because it will attract stay cats & coyotes that might scare your cat away or spay in the litter box. Cats can smell about 3 miles away.

Only If you are certain your cat is nowhere in your home hiding, these are tips I share: If you can safely leave a slider, door or window cracked open, (garage door, too) sometimes cats will return on their own. Put some items with your scent on it (unwashed socks, shirts, pillow cases, etc.) and smelly canned cat food or tuna fish (mackerel or sardines work best) and water. Put a trail of cat treats to your door. Place your kitty's bed out & litter box (only if no coyotes in your area). Indoor cats that escape are usually no further than 3 houses away. Ask neighbors if you can look for your cat on their property. Sometimes cats will try to come back inside very late when it's dark and quiet when they feel it's safe to come out. Cats generally stay close by, so look under bushes, cars, up trees.. Most indoor cats go into survival mode and hide. Most will not respond when in "survival mode." Call your cat's name softly, listen for a meow, and look for eyes with a flashlight. Best time is the middle of the night. Leave a garage door open enough so your cat can return. Ask your neighbors to check their garages, a favorite hiding place. Also post on Nextdoor, Craigslist, too. Post lots of flyers in many places. Ask your neighbors to check their Ring app. which you know shows videos of what people’s cameras have seen. Put a “Lost Cat” sign on your property. Post flyers. Ask your neighbors. File a lost pet report with the Humane Society. Check daily online for found stray cats photos on the San Diego Humane Society's website. SDDAC.com, info@sdhumane.org. SDHumane.org. Hope you find your kitty soon. 🌻 Note: suggestions I’ve made brought back several cats by leaving a door open and also leaving unwashed clothing nearby. The unwashed clothing seems to really get them home. Perhaps a box outside, too. Another cat was found underneath a nearby car. Hope these tips work for you. Good luck! 🌹 Animal Services SDDAC.COM
