SINCE THEY GENERALLY DON'T WANDER FAR, YOU MIGHT WANT TO GIVE THIS A TRY AS IT'S WORKED FOR MANY. FOLLOW TO THE LETTER --- YOU MIGHT WANT TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT --- YOUR CHOICE OF COURSE AND HOME THE NEXT DAY BUT KITTY IS SEARCHING FOR A LOVING FAMILIAR SCENT: THE RAIN WASHED EVERYTHING AWAY, BUT YOUR OPEN DOOR AND THINGS INSIDE THE HOUSE AND HOUSE SCENT WAFTING OUT THE DOOR IS HOW TO GET LOST KITTYS BACK INTO THE HOUSE. People don't like to do this, but it's known to work. NO ONE LIKES TO DO THIS BUT: The door your cat went out of, leave it open enough for kitty to get back into the house, and prop it so it can't close. Bring in anything you have put outside to lure kitty. INSIDE THE HOUSE: Put your worn clothing that has a good scent on it by the opened door, a hair brush, etc. along with kitty's bed or blanket whatever that has scent on it, and even a dish of food and fresh water and some treats, INSIDE THE HOUSE, so the scent can waft, WAFT OUT THE DOOR. Cats can smell 2 miles away. Indoor cats don't go far at all as they are scared to death. If kitty gets the smell he will follow it and get into the house his familiar place and be in the house particularly now with the heavy rains around and nasty weather. The scent of your clothing, and inside of the home, should get him in your home this evening. Make sure things you’ve put outside with scent on them are now IN YOUR HOUSE, as OUTSIDE IT, is counter productive, ---- kitty will find you and get back in. Leave a reentry door open if you can. Leave a scent trail of his clothes, a cat bed and maybe some smelly food like tuna. He’s likely close by and more likely to return when it’s dark and quiet outside. Indoor kitties usually stay close to home. Put something with your scent on it (unwashed clothes) outside. If you have any other cats or put something with there scent on it too. Check under your porch if you have one. Check under grills, sheds, in garages, sheds, bats. The cat could have gotten stuck in a neighbors shed. Check yours as well as. Go door to door and ask if anyone has seen her, even put flyers at peoples doors. If you have a sighting, set a trap with worn piece of your clothing and some food.Also look around at night under bushes and in shrubs with a bright flashlight. It may catch on the kitties eyes. Looking at night when its quieter is better. If he went out the door or a window, leave it open might just come in on his own. You could also get a camera. Leave a window or door cracked open with food inside the house by that opening. They usually go to the same opening they escaped from.
