They work on dogs that: ▪️ Are being trained for tracking ▪️ Calm relaxed dogs ▪️ That are within about three houses of home ▪️ That are actively looking for the house They do not work on: ▪️ Dogs in fight or flight ▪️ Dogs that are further than about three houses from home ▪️ This suggestion does not work in excessive heat temps

Did you know in low income neighborhoods across the valley, the rate of microchipped pets is extremely low probably between 3 and 7%? Maybe even less? Did you know that the neighborhood apps have the top rate of recovery for lost pets? It's because they work like an amber alert. They cover the immediate vicinity and Get the word out to multiple people at once. The people most likely to see the dog in real life. Next door has around a 75% return rate. Neighbors by ring has around a 69% return rate. Cities like Gilbert and Surprise Arizona have extremely high rates of return for lost pets. One of the things I noticed about both of those cities is they are extremely interactive on these apps. They are quick to post and neighbors are quick to jump in to help and reply. Flyers have around a 7 to 21% return rate. This is because there are about 10 steps involved for a flyer to be effective. However all 3 of these are the top methods because they: Reach the immediate vicinity. Immediately They reach the people most likely to see the pet. They reach many people at once in the target area. The national average is only 6% of pets are found at the shelter. And Maricopa County shelter runs around 10-11%. Sad right? Clothing scent trails only work on maybe 2% of lost pets. Your best bet is next door AND neighbors by ring! 🎉💪 Get a post on both of those immediately. They should be the owner's first stop. Don't focus on p a w boost too much. Posting at least once is good enough just in case a rescue person needs to pull up the pictures or something but other than that your best bet is: Neighborhood apps are always first! They're like an amber alert they cover the immediate vicinity! It's urgent to find your dog you know the usual risks, cars, predators, and definitely right now the heat applies to every dog. So you want to use the TOP methods first. RIGHT? The first hours matter the most and the first actions you take are extremely important. You don't want to lose time on things that don't really help. Owners are given all different sorts of advice by people that have never looked into the things that they suggest. 🤨 Some things work very well 🎉 and others don't work hardly at all👎 but people will share them like they do so you don't want to follow the wrong things in the beginning. 😭 Anytime spent on less effective methods is time lost that can make or break you getting your dog back. And clothing sent trails only apply to dogs being trained for tracking or dogs that are within two or three houses of home. Please understand your goal is NOT to reach all of Maricopa County or all of Arizona. You want to focus on covering 1 to 3 MI around you that's it!! Heavily get the word out to those people. I would also post on I would also post on Facebook groups for your specific city on day one NOT THE LOST PET GROUPS. Remember the goal is your neighbors/people around you not only the pet lovers. Take the 5 minutes to download both of those apps and get a post up immediately Do not forget your major intersection and City it should be first in your post! It's also extremely important another major thing to get your post going is comment on it two or three times.
