Remember, scent items are very important. And go out and calmly talk and call him/her like you normally would. They sense distress in your voice and will not come or respond so be calm. Also look up in trees under porches/decks, look at night with a flashlight as their eyes glow in the light. If possible set up cameras. She/he wants to come back, but is just scared and needs guidance. Cats hunker down when they are afraid so try to help him/her find their way back. They will try to come back in the way they got out so keep a point of entry open if at all possible. Good luck 🤞🙏

Make a shelter for him with some clothes with your scent on them as well as some smelly food like sardines in it. If possible, keep the door that he got out if open slightly and if that doesn't work I used Kelly Brach from Professional Pet Trackers to help find my cat that was missing for 2 weeks. She has 3 highly trained dogs that track the cat's scent. Her dog pinpointed the location and we set traps and 3 days later caught the cat. This cat was a Foster and not familiar or bonded with us. He was caught in the bushes 3 houses away from us and that was exactly where the dog led us. I would not have believed it unless I saw it myself. So important to know about this service.

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask your neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. You’ll have to put other pets away and open door or window around 2:30am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. 🐾) Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾

CATS CAN TRACK A SCENT FOR 2 MILES +. DO THE FOLLOWING ASAP SO THE SCENT OF YOUR INSIDE HOME, KITTY'S FOOD AND THINGS CAN WAFT OUT THE DOOR THAT YOU NEED TO LEAVE OPEN ENOUGH FOR KITTY TO GET BACK INSIDE. OUTSIDE THEY ARE TERRIFIED AND HOPING TO PICK UP THE SCENT. LET KITTY GET SETTLED INSIDE BEFORE CLOSING THE DOOR SO DOESN'T RUN OUT ON YOU AGAIN. HOW TO GET LOST KITTYS BACK INTO THE HOUSE. People don't like to do this, but it's known to work. NO ONE LIKES TO DO THIS BUT: The door your cat went out of, leave it open enough for kitty to get back into the house, and prop it so it can't close. Bring in anything you have put outside to lure kitty. INSIDE THE HOUSE: Put your worn clothing that has a good scent on it by the opened door, a hair brush, etc. along with kitty's bed or blanket whatever that has scent on it, and even a dish of food and fresh water and some treats, INSIDE THE HOUSE, so the scent can waft, WAFT OUT THE DOOR. Cats can smell 2 miles away. Indoor cats don't go far at all as they are scared to death. If kitty gets the smell he will follow it and get into the house his familiar place and be in the house particularly now with the heavy rains around and nasty weather. The scent of your clothing, and inside of the home, should get him in your home this evening. Make sure things you’ve put outside with scent on them are now IN YOUR HOUSE, as OUTSIDE IT, is counter productive, ---- kitty will find you and get back in. It’s what kitty is looking for amid his fear. Good luck. ADDED GOOD INFORMATION FOR YOU: https://fb.watch/oKZtpe_I32/?
