Place an item of your clothing and/or your dog's bed and toys outside. Dogs can smell familiar scents from long distances and find their way home using their noses. Also, put up fliers at all major intersections near you, local grocery stores, veterinary clinics and Starbucks. Post Lost Dog notices on PawBoost.com, 24PetConnect.com, Colorado Lost or Found Pets (a Facebook page), Nextdoor and Craigslist. If your dog has been missing for more than five days, it may have been taken to a shelter. After five days, the shelter may put your dog up for adoption via Petfinder.com, so be sure to check that site as well. Talk to your neighbors and ask them to be on the lookout for your dog. And don't forget to call the animal shelter nearest you every day. Good luck!Read More
