Also post to lost and found pets of Lexington Facebook page, and be sure anyone claiming the dog has proof of ownership - ask them to describe something about the dog that is not shown in the picture, or that you have not already mentioned, ask for previous photos, vet records or veterinary confirmation for this particular dog, etc

You can have the pup scanned for a chip..FREE at any vet..Please post on the NEXTDOOR app..perhaps someone in the connecting neighborhoods will know who the owner is and can notify the owner .. IF someone claims the pup..PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY HAVE PROOF OF OWNERSHIP

If you find a pet: Even if you just see a dog loose, and cant act, report to animal control at 859 255-9033 as found and have checked for micro chip. Some people don't have Facebook and owners will look at animal control for their pets. If you can't hold please take to the shelter. Plus post to Lost and Found Pets of Lex, and post to Pawboost, and next door. Scroll through Lost and Found Pets of Lex and Pawboost to see if pet reported missing. Please take to animal control, and remember, a loose cat might be a neighbor’s indoor/outdoor cat. Turtles, birds, pigs, boas, etc are best taken to animal control, they know how to care for them.
