Cathy Herman-Harsch I agreed with you about the litter box...not sure what your issue is.

Marguerite Davis are you a trained and certified Pet Recovery Professional? If not, you've not seen this being harmful and not helpful over a decade and 100's of pets gotten safe. Experience will dictate that you would absolutely understand that even pets in homes will mark their territories with their own housemates. Why would you use something that is harmful when a positive scent item would work!

Cathy Herman-HarschI understand the litter box issue...but it has been my experience in the past with the live humane traps that though it requires more patience and longer time at risk, getting thrm to go in and feed out of the trap without it being set for a day or two before setting the trap causes them to be less wary of the trap...less likely to trigger the trap part way in ...and then refuse to return to it, and so a better sucess of cature when they go inside to eat. But that's juat my own personal experience. If I lived near traffic I might try for capture right way.

DO NOT LEAVE THE LITTERBOX OUT. IT IS AN OLD WIVES TAIL! We have way too many outdoor and feral cats plus wildlife in our area. We all know that animals Mark their territory. It 100% will deter an indoor only cat to return to its home. Instead use positive scents that doesn't cause conflict! Scent articles, food and water. Of course food will attract but it doesn't cause a conflict like people think! The BVSPCA has been begged by Pet Recovery Professionals to pull that from their website and stop telling owners that. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-pet-behaviors/kitty-litter-myth/ (edited)
