There have been quite a few birds lost in the area over the last two weeks or so please bring the bird in there are many looking for their beloved pets- domesticated birds will not survive long in the wild because the other birds noticed their colors and they can only hide so long and the other wild birds will them!! if you are able to bring him in, please just take him to an SPCA or an animal shelter and they will go back through all the lost pet post and try and notify the owner. You don’t need a cage just a small box with some holes cut in it for air temporarily is safer than just having him out there loose!

Holly Lesley Flax agree, especially because the bird is tame enough to be handled. To the OP who found the bird, the weather is going to be rainy and damp, so if you, someone you know, or perhaps a local bird rescue could find a way to keep this little cutie safe, that would be awesome. I’m sure its owner will be so appreciative knowing he or she has a full belly and is safe and cozy.
