Tips for locating your cat.
I have been told that cats often hunker down closer to the house than you might think and that they won’t meow because they are trying to stay hidden so look carefully nearer to the house.
Also check drainage ditches/pipes and other places the cat could hide. Another found their cat in Neighbor’s basement. Just read another that their cat was in a neighbor’s tree and couldn’t get down.
Also check crawlspaces: yours and ask neighbors to check theirs.
Call AND visit the shelters - visiting is important, put out items with the cats and your smell, call for him at first light and twilight.
Take used litter and put it in a zip lock bag partially open near where kitty was last seen. Put up flyers big enough for people to see from their car.
Set up a humane trap with food and the cat/your smell-place some items outside trap to help lead the cat thru smell.
Give a flyer to your mail delivery person and school bus driver, check storm drains. Additional tips: http://www.catsinthebag.org/
Post on nextdoor.com, Craig’s list, pawboost, petharbor.com, post signs at your vet and nearby vets, pet finder, newspapers, etc.
Also check this site. I’m not convinced all these cats are feral. http://www.wakegov.com/pets/feralfarmfriends/Pages/default.aspx Is part of wake Cty animal center
