🎉❤️ UPDATE JERRY IS HOME & SAFE!!! ❤️🎉 After six long, heartbreaking days, my sweet Jerry is finally HOME. 🐾🏠❤️ Tonight, a wonderful couple was out walking their dog when they heard a cat crying from high up in a tree. They had seen Jerry’s missing flyer and realized this might be him. They called us and asked, “Did you lose your cat?” and described his collar. The moment I realized they were talking about Jerry, I couldn’t stop crying. 😭❤️ Jerry had been stuck high up in that tree, crying for help. The gentleman went back, got a ladder, climbed up, and brought Jerry safely down. They wrapped my exhausted baby in a blanket and kept him safe until we could get to him. I will never forget their kindness. They heard his cries, they cared, and they didn’t walk away. They brought my baby back to me. 🙏🏼❤️ Those flyers didn’t just help us find Jerry — they helped Jerry find his way home. ❤️🐾 For the past six days, so many wonderful people helped us in so many ways. You shared Jerry’s posts and flyers, gave us advice and suggestions, prayed for him, kept your eyes open while walking or driving, searched your neighborhoods and yards, sent possible sightings, and continued giving me hope when I was exhausted and heartbroken. Some of you didn’t know me or Jerry at all, yet you showed us so much kindness, compassion, and love. I cannot possibly thank each of you enough. This experience showed me what a truly caring community we have. During those difficult days, I went to church, and I heard a message that stayed in my heart: “Joseph, don’t quit in the pit.” 🙏🏼 I took it as a sign — don’t lose hope, don’t give up. I held onto those words and kept searching, praying, and believing that somehow Jerry would come home. And tonight, my little “Joseph” was not found in a pit… he was found high up in a tree! 🌳🐾❤️ To everyone on Nextdoor, Ring, PawBoost, our neighbors, friends, and every person who shared a flyer, searched, prayed, sent a message, offered guidance, or simply kept an eye out for Jerry — THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. ❤️🙏🏼 And to the wonderful couple who heard Jerry tonight and rescued him: you will always have a very special place in my heart. Thank you for hearing his cry and bringing my baby home. ❤️ Six days of searching, praying, crying, hoping, and refusing to give up… and tonight I finally get to say the words I have been praying for: ❤️🐾 JERRY IS HOME. JERRY IS SAFE. MY BABY IS BACK IN MY ARMS. 🐾❤️ Thank you all for your kindness, your prayers, your compassion, your guidance, and your help. Have neighbors check garages and sheds. Have a tree out back? Check that too. Leave your garage door up a little so they can return home to a familiar place. Place a box outside with blankets or even the clothes you wore today so a cat can pick up the scent and make it home. If you are new to this area, have friends keep an eye out at your former home. And please: CHECK THE LOCAL SHELTERS DAILY I hope your kitty makes it back home safe very soon. Please make sure to get your cat chipped once they return, and PLEASE keep them indoors! PLEASE NEVER LOSE HOPE! LOOK UP! Cats are great climbers and looking for them on the ground only is limiting your search. Male wanderers tend to stay within a territory of about 150 acres, while females stay closer to home, roaming only about 40 acres. This means that your average male cat is likely to stay within 1500 feet of home, while your average female tends not to go much farther than 75 yards from your door. Be careful of the lost pet finders.
