So sorry your kitty has gone missing. Kitty is likely hiding close by (especially if an indoor-only cat). Leave food and water nearby. Also place a protected large container shelter with unwashed towel/blanket inside. A little used litter could also betered nearby. SEARCH OFTEN AND THOROUGHLY---under parked cars, down alleyways, in neighbors' yards, under shrubs/piles of debris, up trees, under porches, near dumpsters. Check for open bat doors and broken windows in homes/bldgs (garages, sheds, etc.). Take a flashlight, carrier, and treats/favorite food with you, and call kitty's name while you search on foot. Call out to kitty and listen carefully. Find out if anyone around/near your block feeds strays. Post flyers *door-to-door* on & around your block, along streets, with local businesses and area vets. Ask neighbors to check their properties and to text you immediately if they see kitty. File a report with Phila ACCT shelter (http://www.acctphilly.org/lostpet/lostreport/) and post on their fb page LostAndFoundPhilly (https://www.facebook.com/LostAndFoundPhilly). Contact your microchip company to report and update your contact info. Also post on these sites: www.facebook.com/pages/Lost-And-Found-Pets-South-Philly-area/474051846072348, NextDoor.com and Craigslist (lost&found) and any social media sites in your particular neighborhood (or a block email group). Check the following stray cat facebook sites for 'found' cats in the area: PhlCommunityCats, StrayCatReliefFund, TheCatCollaborative. Also email your flyer to area vets, including Philly PAWS (gfclinic@phillypaws.org) and Morris Animal Refuge (215 735 9570). Consider borrowing a humane trap from one of the organizations above (or a vet) and setting it up nearby. Again, SEARCH for kitty as often as possible throughout the day! Keep us posted.
