Look under everything, decks, sheds, stairs and bushes. Leave his blanket or worn clothing outside. Talk to neighbors, check security cameras, and put up big bright posters. Call, especially at night with a flashlight to see eyes.

I know this is not ideal, especially since it's raining, but when and if you can, leave your door open a little bit and put out your worn clothes and some food. We did this and our cat came home in the middle of the night after missing for 3 days.
