I’m so sorry your baby is missing! Here are some suggestions to help find your baby…… indoor cats are in survival mode and are frightened, they will hide……and hide very well so PLEASE check everywhere often….especially at night. Report it to ANIMAL CONTROL as well as Vets and SHELTERS with a picture incase they are brought in injured or for a chip check. Include Groomers and Pet Stores Put up lots and lots of FLYERS!!! Give to neighbors, attach to mailboxes, put up at stores, library, grocery stores everywhere! Give to your postal carrier they see animals all the time!! Sit outside and read a book out loud, the sound of your voice can lure him/her back if he’s close by. Drag his/her bedding around the area of your home.. Please create a free account at petfbi.org/report.html This account will send out an alert that s/he is missing, and send you an alert if anyone were to report a cat found near that location. That account could help get your cat back home too. Put on Facebook lost pets page in your town/state etc..and on your local town page!! Check trees, under, in and behind things in your yard and others often. Make your neighbors aware. Please check yours and neighbors garages, sheds, porches, barns, basements and under and in vehicles !! Cats like to come out @ night so leave A LIGHT ON THE PORCH WITH FOOD and IT'S BEDDING near a CRACKED OPENED DOOR OR WINDOW FOR ENTRY.... It’s not recommended to put out litter boxes as it could be used by another cat which could DETER return or bring in a predator such as coyotes….. Use a camera or baby monitor to watch for his /her return, using a havaheart trap with tuna to catch them as well as an unlaundered piece of your laundry. If u put food out be very careful and monitor very closely as it can attract predators . You can borrow a trap from animal control or cat rescue. The ACO or a rescue can help u on how to trap a cat. U must never leave trap unattended. If there are sightings set up a feeding station And camera at sighting area, then when he is spotted On camera u can trap him. It can be helpful to use a flashlight at night to spot its eyes ! Look around shrubs, under cars, decks, porches, in garages, sheds, up in trees, in yours and neighbors yards. Calling for it several times a day and shaking treats, indoor cats can become disoriented..calling out helps in RECOGNIZING YOUR VOICE AND DIRECTION!! Your cat is in survival mode and may not act as they usually did, he is afraid. Please DO NOT give up !! Continue to check & recheck EVERYWHERE. Monitor Facebook, Craigslist and nextdoor sites for found cats. Cats have been found several years after….. don’t give up, keep the faith and keep looking!!! Put cameras outside, leave door open At night, contact a cat rescue or www.wanderingpawsk9.com pet tracker to help u don’t give up!!! There’s also Hawkeye aerial systems…. Go out late at night or pre-dawn when it's quiet. Call out name of kitty softly if kitty eats kibbles bring a bag and shake it. Kitty is probably close by check under bushes and under pouches. Don't give up, it may take several tries.. Good luck!

Please try these tips they have definitely helped others to get their pet home. Watch a tip video on youtube about how to find your lost cat,there are several. Post and check on Nextdoor for sightings. Also just heard about this site offering great useful tips so definitely check it out “lostcatfinder.com” Just know your kitty is probably not far away so the sooner the better, put out something of yours or the cats out for scent, putting out the litter box is not recommended as it attracts unwanted critters that could possibly scare your cat off again. 🔺SO IMPORTANT…. Look with flashlight early a.m. and/or late at night, calling and shaking food. That part is crucial because those are the quiet hours and your cat would be more prone to coming out of hiding. put up flyers too. If you get any sightings use a trap, sometimes you can borrow from animal control or Amazon has them. I have recently heard some take smelly, oily fish (juice only) (sardines, tuna) and make a “smelly trail” around their house to help with scent. Dont give up too soon , i had one gone for weeks and as i was about to give up, my last night to call her, she was in our yard. Also just heard someone found theirs after 70 days so…… 🙏🏻🙏🏻 EDIT: Regarding looking early a.m. or late p.m. hours I feed a stray and I see him on our ring camera before it gets truly light so when I say early a.m. I mean something like 530 am. Also when searching if you notice any feral cat colonies/feeding stations, definitely check them out
