Check neighborhood surveillance cameras Put a surveillance or trail camera of your own up in case cat comes near your house when you’re not home or asleep. For NY residents or those in CT close to NY border:Post on Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley Facebook Also: one can try a drone service near your area. If pet is stolen: Report to police. Ask neighbors to check their surveillance cameras. Give picture of dog with your contact info to postal, ups etc drivers and ask them to keep an eye out. Flashlights at night, scan the area especially under things like decks, bushes and in trees. Scan. The light illuminates their eyes.

If the owner is in the comments LOST CATS 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 ⚠️ 🐈‍⬛ 🐈Sharing. **🚫 BEWARE: SCAMMERS WILL CALL AND SAY THEY FOUND YOUR PET!! They’ll ask for Google Codes, etc. They may post comments suggesting using services on Instagram or WhatsApp (scams!). They may send a text saying they’re from the local SPCA or Animal Control.. (all scams!) They may say they’ve hit your cat with their car, or have seen it happen. If it doesn’t sound right, it usually isn’t! ⬇️⬇️ Please read through tips: ⬇️⬇️ ✅✅✅ LOST CAT TIPS: Please read through the tips and resources below: 💢💢Post TO YOUR LOCAL RING AND NEXTDOOR! Notify local PD. ⚠️ LOST CATS (Suggestions courtesy of Lost Pets of Westchester County, NY). (Please EDIT your post to include PHOTO, contact info and location. City/town; Street/neighborhood if you haven’t already done so). 🚫🚫 {Please beware of scammers contacting you looking for $$, Google verification codes, etc. Sadly, people take advantage and seize any opportunity to scam others 😓. } ⚠️Your kitty is likely close to home! 🟠 ✅ Please check all garages, under decks/sheds, in bushes, etc., and ask neighbors to do the same. Go door to door and ask too. Check all paths from point of escape. 🟠 ✅ Also, check your entire home completely. In all drawers, closets, basements, attics, behind washer/dryer. They are often trapped or could be hiding due to being frightened or illness. Especially true if there’s been any work being done, houseguests, etc. 🟠 ✅ Put smelly food, their bedding and an article of clothing with your scent outside (if you are able to monitor it). 🟠 ✅ Outside: Please check for your cat in the late evening, overnight and early morning hours. Use a flashlight and search quietly. You may see their eyes illuminated by the flashlight. You may quietly call their name, gently shake a treat box. Also, if you can leave a door, garage door, basement door, etc. a little bit open, they may slip quietly back inside. 🔸*** ✅ Borrow a Hav-a-Heart trap (from local Shelter, if possible). Do some research about how to best use it for good results. They can be very successful in getting kitty back safely. 🔸✅ Check all surveillance cameras, Ring Doorbells and those belonging to neighbors or businesses in the area. You may spot your cat. ⚠️Note: there are differing opinions about the litter box being put outside. **Some say it attracts coyotes, other neighborhood cats and predators that could scare your cat away. We have also been told by some of our followers that this has been effective for them. So, the choice is ultimately up to you. * Contact and visit local Shelters ... and notify Shelters further away also. * Notify and give fliers to local Veterinarians and Pet Stores. * Please contact, visit and give fliers to all __________________________ * Let your local Police Department know. * Create large colorful signs with a large photo and phone number in large print.
