Is he deed? Please advise as it impacts critical advice I can share if not. You need to be SUPER proactive in your search given he’s not microchipped. Places like the RSPCA, Cat Haven and APS in Southern Rive are only legally required to hold unclaimed cats that are unchipped for 3 days before they can be rehomed. Plus, due to the number of cats they take in, they don’t advertise them all so you may need to go physically check yourself to see if they’re there. Please consider a humane cat trap asap 😻 Door knock at least up to 10 houses away to ask your neighbours if they’ve seen them and to check their sheds, garages, roof spaces, caravans, trailers etc. Make up flyers for a letter box drop, put up posters. Leave out your unwashed clothing, their bedding and some smelly food to help attract them home. Also call at night and walk your neighbourhood (with someone so you’re safe) and call them while banging / rattling their food - also take some smelly food to attract them as well as a torch to help better see their eyes in the dark 😻 Call all local vets within 5km and all emergency vets within 20km, the rangers / pounds and the Cat Haven as well as RSPCA (and APS given you’re close). Ask the vets as well as the rangers where their cats are sent if not claimed and ask after how many days they’re sent there. Keep checking their websites too 🤞 If it’s safe to do so do you and other pets, can they get back in the way they got out? It’s important to leave your unwashed clothing in the front and back yards to help them work out which house is their home 🤞 Please share to Pets of Perth - Lost & Found 🤞

Call all local Vets also animal rescues and RSPCA as well as any local pet stores. Make sure that your animals are microchipped and all of your details are up to date. You can update your pets microchip details online or by phone with their particular microchip company or at any Vet clinic. Check your whole home and yard firstly. Some people put out fresh sardines, warm roast chicken meat or whatever is the cats or dogs favourite food is and you could also put out some catnip out for cats as well. The smells of their favourite foods could very well lure them out of hiding or back home if nearby. Door knock the area and the neighbourhood where they went missing and put out flyers. If you've just moved areas, when your pet went missing, you may well have to also check your old neighbourhood as well in case they've tried to return there. Ask neighbours and people in your immediate area to check their security cameras for any sightings of your pet. If you are worried your pet may have been stolen dont delay in making a Police report. Post on other lost pet pages and all local community pages as well. Actively keep looking for your pet daily. Go to the RSPCA holding facilities in person to make certain your pet is not there as they do not hold them for very long before rehoming.

TIPS TO HELP FIND LOST PET: ✅Place his/her bedding, your shoes, a piece of your unwashed clothing (such as a sweatshirt, blanket, pillowcases) and food/water outside *if there is coyotes in the area bring the food in at night*. 🚫Do not put litter box outside. Putting the litter box outside can attract predators and other cats which might keep your cat from returning home🚫 *Putting out the other items listed above, are scents only your cat will recognize* ‼️ They might be nearby and can’t figure out how to get inside ***IF you have a garage or door/sliding door that can be left open*** Leave the garage/ or door cracked for them and place the shoes, bedding, and unwashed clothing in the garage‼️ ‼️Setting a trap on your porch, in garage or backyard is also a good idea. Many cats go into survival mode when out of their element and scared and may not come to you on their own. Most skittish cats will hunker down and stay nearby so a trap is very helpful as well. ✅Walk around the area calling them calmly early morning and late evening when it’s quiet & shake a bag of treats(if they like treats), or can of tuna etc. ✅If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and make sure your contact info is up to date. ✅Hang flyers (use a bright colored board or paper) with picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home. ✅Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. ✅Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing. ✅File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters ✅If checking shelters in person, ask to see the animals in isolation too. ✅Check shelter websites daily (as it is updated hourly) ✅Check shelter found reports for found postings but not at the shelter. ✅Take a flyer to the shelters. ✅File online with petharbor, pawboost ✅Post on area lost and found pet and community Facebook pages, area shelter Facebook pages, Nextdoor, newspapers and Craigslist under "pets" and "Lost and Found”
