We lost our cat for 8 weeks. One day a friend said that she thought she had seen our cat outside her house. We searched around the neighborhood. As we were walking home there she was at the next door neighbor's house on their patio. So don't give up your cat might be closer than you think.

Cars are nocturnal. Going out late at night, preferably after midnight is best to walk or get un your car with an open container of their favorite food. Call for them loudly and go beyond your neighborhood. Your cat may be next door or in another neighborhood. Don't give up. Make colored flyers and hand them.out door to door, post on steeet signs with your phone number. Leave your info with local Veterinarians and shelters in case your kitty is brought in. I did all if this and after 2 weeks my boy came home to my back door. Don't leave food out. Water is ok and put some of your worn clothing next to it to help him find his way home. Also, go to 24petconnect.com and look for him there daily. Ask around as to who may be feeding stray cats. Your cat may be hanging out there to be with other cats. Prayers for his/her safe return.

Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be killed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they can snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap.

The best advice I can give you is to go out at dusk and for the next few hours with a flashlight or the light on your iPhone and shine it underneath things and up in the trees close to your home. If she is an indoor cat the statistics say that she is close to your house terrified, and watching you. Unlike a dog she will not come to you when called. She kicks into survival mode and watches and waits. The flashlight will glint off her eyes in the dark and make it easier to see her. 🙏🧡 A friend just found her indoor cat after five days. Two blocks from home, under bushes next to the road. She was driving around late night- calling his name. She heard him meow softly and she kept calling and he meowed more and more loudly. She had to be very quiet tho and listen intently each time. She found him! Have faith. You can do this. 🧡 3am is seriously the magic hour. Set your alarm and get up every hour. Use the flashlight. Call softly and LISTEN! Look under cars. On top of tires. Look in trees and on roofs! Cats often run up into a high spot to get away from a predator. If you don’t have them, get a couple of Blink outdoor cameras to put around your house. They are night vision, and you may catch him on there too! You can find him - I promise! 💜🧡🤛
