Message from Owner

Sweet Bug usually stays indoors or is around the yard with us and stays close. He has a red studded collar with a star shaped tag including his name, my name and my phone number. I’ve posted lost cat signs, posted on local threads about a missing pet and have had neighbors keeping an eye out. I’ve searched the woods daily of where he disappeared to. He is a healthy cat that just has a physical. He is an adventurous boy but also a bit nervous. He has been living in Wilmington for about a year and has never left my side while outdoors. We lived in Somerville prior and he would go out wandering all day and come home when called when I got dark outside. I’m so in love with this cat and distraught but trying to keep a positive head. Please help us find Bug, we need him as much as he needs us 💔

Most likely your cat is near by. These are steps you should follow.....1) Sprinkle lots of cat nip near the door he got out from and your yard.2) Leave an unlaundered Tshirt or article of clothing(someone mentioned socks) near the door. 3) Go outside and call him frequently or when possible....especially at night when there is less traffic noise. 4) Pass out flyers with his picture and your phone number on it, put in peoples mailbox's and talk to as many neighbors as possible (this is how I got my cat back, years ago). 5) go out in the evening around your neighborhood....look closely under bushes, porch steps etc.... using a FLASH LIGHT. Cats eyes will shine like reflectors when the light is used. 6) Put real TUNAFISH outside near your door. 7)Please do not put the litter box outside. It will attract predators like coyotes.8)Don't give up!

Put your clothes outside as a scent. Have neighbors check cellars sheds garages and vehicles. They get trapped. Look under porches and sheds etc. Have a Heart trap with tuna. Cover trap with blanket and watch trap. Look at night often with flashlight. Check attics drawers and in trees 🌲. Culverts. Flyers everywhere. Check town authorities and vets. Look at lost and found pet sites shelters in case brought in. Craigslist too. Get kids you know to help look. Check behind walls and insulation. Abandoned buildings. Leave the door open for cat or window.
