First it is suggested that you crack your windows open as the one thing an indoor cat knows is the smell of their house. Second, when an indoor cat gets out they are usually very close to their home - usually a couple of hundred feet. They will find some place to hunker down and stay there until they are hungry or thirsty. They will come out in the middle of the night (not at dawn or dusk when predators may be around). Do not leave lights on as cat may feel more secure venturing out when it is darker. It is also suggested if it is safe to do so to leave door that tge cat got out of cracked opened with a bowl of water and bowl of smelly food like tuna inside door with camera on the door that will alert you when there is any movement. Put out an article of your unwashed clothing and bedding- they can recognize the scent and it may help them find their way home. Indoor cats do not travel far they may be hiding nearby- check under porches, bushes and even under a parked car. If you call her/him, call gently- do look while it's dark and quiet- - Put flyers with photo and decent reward in your local Stewarts; post on Steve Caparizzo's FB page and your neighborhood Nextdoor app as well as Pawboost asap! Notify your neighbors!! Let the animal shelter and the own animal control officer know as well. Post a flyer with the cat's picture and a reward in local Stewart's etc. If someone has picked them up, seeing the flyer with a reward may motivate them to return the kitty to you. All that helped me get my boy back. I will pray for your cat’s safe return real soon! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Have you checked sheds, garages, etc...? If you have a regular feeding time, get some sardines, people tuna or a roaster chicken from the supermarket and go outside and call his/her name. Also put some dry food in a plastic container and shake it while you are looking for him/her. DO NOT LEAVE food outside because it will attract other critters. Get a good flashlight and look up trees at night and in the morning when it is still dark outside. You know (or should know) what your cats like, for examples: if they like catnip, use that to attract them or mine know the sound of the laser light key chain and come running when I pick it up. Put their litter box outside but do not leave it outside unattended because it will attract other critters. Also put out some dirty clothes so they can catch scents. The best time to find escapees is either early in the AM while it is still dark out or early PM when it is getting dark. Cats usually hide during the day. Chances are he/she isn't far from home. Put him/her on nextdoor, craigslist, pawboost and print out flyers to hang around your neighborhood, don't just call the humane society or check their website, go there in person every day! There are numerous lost/found pet pages on facebook, be sure and put him/her on there too! Also, call all of the local vets, he/she could have gotten picked up and taken to a vet, local shelter.

Lost Cat Post to your neighborhood Nextdoor.com website. Check with animal control and police to see if anyone has found a cat of this description. Check neighborhood surveillance cameras Put a surveillance or trail camera of your own up in case cat comes near your house when you’re not home or asleep. For NY residents or those in CT close to NY border:Post on Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley Facebook Also: one can try a drone service near your area. If pet is stolen: Report to police. Ask neighbors to check their surveillance cameras. Give picture of dog with your contact info to postal, ups etc drivers and ask them to keep an eye out. Please place his bedding 🛏outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a can of tuna 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Also vacuumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbo🖼picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call☎️ immediately. Go early in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage.Just in case it's trapped.. Also, you can install a camera 📹to monitor and see if the cat is around your house . Best of luck 🍀finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾

Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.
