White cat with gray and black markings, wearing a collar

Message from Finder

This cat is pretty skinny and very skittish. I’ve seen it around my hse before, but this is the first time I’ve gotten a picture. When we made eye contact, it ran off towards 37th & Penn. It seems to have a neck wound of some kind. Definitely wearing a collar

Colleen Levy I did originally see the post on pawboost. I emailed from the link there right after I commented here. If you see her again and call her by name, she might come to you, if it's her.

Colleen Levy yeah, I've gone through that a couple times myself. But when they're used to eating somewhere, they usually do come back.I have one who's been coming around on and off as soon as he saw the trap he did run off , but he must have had another food source because he looked really good when I finally got to see him again.

Marie I don’t have a trap - I’m also worried that I might accidentally trap/terrify one of my colony cats if I use one

Meso unfortunately I don’t really have suggestions there, as it’s my neighbor who feeds them consistently (I also went through food like crazy when I used to put food out for them - I couldn’t afford to continue it). For the shelters, we bought 3 heavy duty storage bins with lids, cut holes in the narrow side using scissors, lined the holes with duct tape / taped the lids on, filled them halfway with straw, and pushed them under our back porch so the hole opening is facing the house (protecting from wind). Sometimes opossums and raccoons use our shelters 🤷‍♀️
