White cat with gray and black markings, wearing a collar

Message from Finder

This cat is pretty skinny and very skittish. I’ve seen it around my hse before, but this is the first time I’ve gotten a picture. When we made eye contact, it ran off towards 37th & Penn. It seems to have a neck wound of some kind. Definitely wearing a collar

Cat Unfortunately, there is a colony of 13 feral cats that live outside my house, so trapping or baiting isn’t really an option because I’ll just catch a colony cat. My neighbors do feed and water the colony, and there are plenty of cat shelters the neighborhood provides, so the cats in the area are I guess as well taken care of as feral cats can be. That said, they’re territorial and this poor little one probably isn’t safe around them

*** Thank you for helping this beautiful little soul! Please try to set a live trap with a bowl of tuna or wet cat food. Cats can smell tuna from a great distance away! You can get the baby checked for a microchip for free at most vet clinics or the humane society. Please put in a safe spare room to keep away from all the dangers outside, such as bad weather, coyotes, owls, eagles, raccoons, dogs, poisons, disease, traps, cars, and bad humans! Please don't give to just anyone because there are cruel people out there that get pets for horrible reasons like dogfighting bait and other sickening things! Make sure that anyone who tries to claim the cat has absolute proof of ownership such as photos and veterinarian records or receipts, and can identify specific markings, personality, voice, etc! Most healthy adult cats tolerate temperatures down to about 45-50°F (7-10°C), but prolonged exposure below 45°F (7°C) becomes risky, and freezing temperatures (32°F/0°C and below) pose serious risks like frostbite and hypothermia for any cat, especially kittens, seniors, or sick pets, requiring insulated shelter, unfrozen water, and limited outdoor time to stay safe.

Any vet will scan at no charge for a chip. Search and cross-post on Nextdoor, Pawboost, Petco, Pet FBI, etc. Post to Nextdoor many aren't on FB. Thanks for helping kitty.
