Description

Fluffy, beige cat sitting on My neighbor’s car at 1 AM.. and started wandering around .

Message from Finder

I already have reported this cat before , and I’m very concerned for its well-being as we live in an area where there are many coyote dens . I’m not sure if it’s lost or outdoor..

This is all general info. Not all may apply, depending on the circumstances. The finder will decide if, what, and when to do things, if applicable. First ask around. If the kitty looks in good shape it hopefully lives nearby, and could be an indoor/outdoor cat. Then get kitty scanned for a microchip at a vet clinic (free). If no luck, get signs up and check with local vet clinics in case they recognize it (give them each a sign). Also post on Neighbourhood groups. But only hand over with proof of ownership (photos and vet records). Also check the listings on the lost and found sites in case owner has posted, and be sure to also post in the fb group: Toronto Lost and Found Cats If you feel it is truly a lost cat (in danger where found, too cold or in distress, hungry and/or thin), then file a found report with Animal Services/local shelters and keep checking their listings (this can usually be done while still holding onto the kitty which is less stressful for it). Also, when transporting cat, make sure it’s in a secure carrier. Borrow one if needed. I see someone commented to contact a rescue. That should only come into play once efforts to find the owner have been exhausted and a report is filed with Animal Services, etc. To do other wise is against the law. Just wanted to let you know. Rescues are generally for rehoming, not reuniting.

Please Please leave some fresh cold water!!! Ideally he/she needs to be taken inside out of the heat and taken to a vet or humane society to see if there's a microchip!! Sharing post and praying this precious kitty is reunited with family asap! ((🙏🐾🏡🙏))

Cheryl Proudfoot Hopefully you will see it again and if so, please try to secure it and have it checked for a chip. Thanks for caring.

Cheryl Proudfoot a rescue can set a trap with food to catch him since he frequents the area. If you would be willing to watch the trap

It was 1 am and I was on my balcony . I tried calling him and he ignored me -He wasn’t in any danger but behind the car is a huge ravine of townhouses and coyote dens . You’re right he may have jumped up to get away from something! Never thought about that!

If you can secure the cat and take it to be scanned for a chip, they can then hopefully educate the owner to the dangers of allowing it to roam around (also against the law!). Maybe it jumped up on the car to get out of harm's way. 😿
