I rescued Buddy off the streets 9 years ago on Nebraska Avenue near Standing Bear Lake, and we recently lost our . We were at my friends apmt on Saturday morning April 18th and Buddy escaped and ran off. He is severely disoriented and afraid. He had not been outside for any length of time in recent years. Notify Nebraska Humane Society and file lost report. Post on Lost Pets of Omaha Area for widest readership. Hopefully he is microchipped. Put owner’s dirty clothes around yard at his home and a kennel covered with a tarp nearby. Put water and bed in the kennel. Check often if he has cone home. I am assuming you live in an apartment…if you live in a house, put water and bed in garage with door open enough he can get in. Cat will probably try going back ‘home’. Search area every possible place he could be hiding or hurt…window wells, storm drains/gutters, trees, bushes, sheds, garages, empty containers, boxes, decks, porches, outdoor furniture, etc. After dark, search with flashlights so you can see cat’s eyes shine. Walk area between apartment where lost and his home with his favorite treats or try tuna or sardines. Call his name in a calm, friendly voice. Hoping you find him soon.
