Reynette Kruger Franck I know it would help the owner, if you sent a message for they don't always see the comments on Pawboost posts, and the direct link to the 719 post would assist in finding it too.

At the top of my page is a pinned post with tips on how to find or return a lost pet. This post includes helpful links to local Lost & Found pages and places to report missing or found pets. Once you post your LOST alert, take a moment to look through the FOUND posts — your pet may already be listed. Keep checking back regularly for updates. Here’s the link to the tips: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3550007315054776&set=pb.100001366267424.-2207520000..&type=3 There's a video link on how to catch a loose and normally scared dog (e.g. calling their name – even by the owner - can send them running the other way if in survival mode, don't chase, etc.). https://youtu.be/cmiZzB643is There’s lots of information about creating scent trails by WALKING and other ways like putting out your dirty laundry, all so the dog can smell his way home. Dogs can smell up to 11 miles away. In the comments is a diagram of a wagon wheel showing how to lay out a scent trail leading back to your home ……………do this ASAP…………….. 🏃💨 A dog that bolts from a car should have scent left at both the escape point and the home. Lost dogs move in loops, not straight lines, and they often return to the last place they smelled their owner and the long‑term scent anchor at home. Leaving unwashed clothing, the dog’s bedding, and water (no food) at both spots gives the dog two safe scent stations to return to instead of wandering farther. Petco Love Lost is a national lost pet system that scans photos from shelters, rescues, and found pet posts all across the USA. It’s the only database that consistently matches pets using facial recognition AI, so even if your dogs were taken out of state, they can still show up in the system. It’s free, fast, and absolutely worth adding your dogs’ photos — many families have been reunited this way. 🔗 Petco Love Lost: https://petcolove.org/lost/

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.
