Sorry to hear your kitty is missing. Your cat is nearby probably on your property scared and hiding. Put out worn clothing. Clothing has to be worn so that kitty can pick up on the scent. Also put out kitty’s cat bed or a blanket anything with the cat’s scent outside. Leave a window or the door slightly open so that kitty can find its way back inside the house. Be sure to secure other pets first. Go out at Dawn and Dusk especially with a flashlight and check underneath bushes, trees, cars, decks, patio furniture, sheds etc. Kitty’s venture off to far away from home. Be sure to search properties at a radius of 10 homes to the right, 10 to the left, 10 behind and 10 in front. Go door to door and let your neighbours know your cat is missing. Ask for their permission to search their properties. Neighbours will not thoroughly search their properties or know where to look. It is best if you search the properties. Shake a bag of your cat’s favourite treats or food calling kitty’s name calmly. Look at every nook and cranny. Create flyers and hand out to your neighbours as well as post flyers in the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. If you can offer a reward it will encourage others to look for your kitty. Do don’t leave her litter box outside it will attract stray cats, raccoons etc. It will scare your cat away. If your cat is microchipped call the company and report the cat missing. Make sure your contact information is up to date. Report your cat missing to your local SPCA or Human Society. Go in person to your local SPCA /Humane Society and check out the kitties that were recently brought in. Follow the tips. Don’t waste any time starting your search. Start search as quickly as possible. Just keep going out looking for your cat. Recheck your property and your neighbours and surrounding areas as many times necessary. Good luck.

- [ ] The kitty is probably hiding close to home and scared. Call the kitty’s name softly morning noon and night. Late at night. Rattle a treats bag. Put out toys and food and water. Rig up a cat shelter - place articles of clothing and blankets that smell like home in the shelter. Posters work. Make posters and put them up everywhere with your phone number visibly on the poster. Ask for sightings. Don’t give up.

Shared. This was posted a number of days ago, I hope you did ALL these things, now do them ALL again and go further in your search, Check EVERY neighbour within 5-10 block. TWO days is a long time to a cat and this is MUCH longer. Notify Markham Animal Services and check their website for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies, as cats often hide nearby when scared. A friend's cat once found her way into their ceiling and it took two days to discover her and longer to get her out. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. Cats will usually stay near the door they left for a day or two before searching for food. But note that intact male cats can travel long distances in search of females in heat and have trouble finding their way home. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters.
