is this cat's pattern on coat like a "makerel" tabby cat, also called a "tiger cat"? If you're not sure, go to wikipedia and search on makerel tabby. more details about the cat would be helpful in your post like how big, weight, any markings, eye color, etc. I can't possibly count his toes from a distance, so that'll be helpful to someone who traps the cat.

Go around the area caLling his name...tap a food dish..shake a food bag or box. Keep an eye on your door...especially at night...they sometimes try to get back in but are not able.
