Message from Owner

Hes very shy and is an indoor cat who is an escape artist. He like to hide and usually comes out if you call for him. Sometimes if you meow he will meow back he loves pets and will rub his head against you for all the attention and pets if he's comfortable with you. He is my baby and his brother Alexmisses him just as much.

Wanted to share these tips to help find a lost pet. Another social media is Craigslist. Check and post under their community section of lost and found area. Their are some people like the elderly who choose not to be on facebook. Others are taking a break from facebook. Also any lost pets websites for your area. The ones we know of here in Central Iowa are: www.IowaPetAlert.com www.PawBoost.com AHeinz57 Missing Mutts (facebook) AHeinz57 Lost Cats (facebook) Lost Dogs Iowa (facebook) www.NextDoor.com Missing Pets (facebook) Put flyers around and let vet clinics around your area know. Go daily to your local shelters and check. Don't call your shelters. Here in Central Iowa our local HyVee grocery stores, Casey's gas stations,Tractor Supply and Ace Hardware have community bulletin boards for flyers. Those in smaller communities check with your Post Office if you can put a flyer up there as well. Be sure to alert your local mailman, delivery drivers, bus drivers and garbage collectors. They are in the neighborhood daily and may spot your pet. Call your local animal control to see if they have pick him/her up and which shelter they took him/her to. If you have a garage put his/her food, water, and a box (or live trap if you have one) with some of YOUR unwashed t-shirts with your scent on them in it for him/her. Note those who have lost a cat DO NOT put out the litter box as predators will pick up your cat scent and will stay close by waiting for your cat as their meal. Ask your neighbors to check their security cameras, garages, sheds and to look under their deck. If you or you know somebody that has a drone that can help assist you in finding your lost pet also. Our prayers for the family.

They typically stay within 160 foot perimeter of home, about four or five houses. Do you have access to a ring or blink camera to watch the door he left by? He may return on his own during the overnight hours. You could try luring him back by drizzling tuna juice from the door into the yard and tuna fish on a plate. They will become more active at night when it’s dark and quiet. At that time look under decks, porches, bushes, and inside/under anything they can hide in. When you’re out looking talk to him like he’s still in the house and listen for a meow in response or bushes rustling. Move slowly. Hang the pillowcase of his favorite person outside so the wind can carry the scent. As flyers door-to-door asking neighbors to check Ring security cameras. Does anyone in the neighborhood feed feral cats? If so, ask if they have a new visitor coming by.
