*Notify: Non emergency police, animal control, microchip co. & shelters *Post on: Your city’s Facebook, Nextdoor app, Ring Neighborhood & new Ring Search Party *Keep your lines of communication open with your *contact # for real-time sightings *Dogs know their owners scent. Leave out worn items like socks, T-shirts etc., dog’s bedding AND a *food station* at point of exit where the dog ran from! Food station=smelly food+*bowl of water* (rotisserie chicken or hot dog fried with liquid smoke) to carry scent & bring the dog back on his/her own Leave a baby monitor outside with camera AND watch your Ring Camera. *TRICK on Facebook: Share your post to other pages,l from *your own wall* and make sure it is a public post!! This way you’ll see and be tagged on all comments and sightings. Update your post on YOUR wall daily, so all other posts update automatically & will keep your post current in all newsfeeds. *FLIERS generate sightings. Once there’s a sighting, a trapper would set up a feeding station & humane trap. Contact a trapper, so they’ll be ready at the last sighting. *If there are no recent sighting, hang & distribute more fliers. Fliers generate sightings and awareness. Provide fliers to restaurants, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, pizza, food delivery places & supermarkets to distribute with every order *On Facebook: Search Buddha Dog Rescue & Rec. page and read the section “LOST PET Things To Do”. She has a great flier template & guidance. *Do not send $ or codes to anyone. Often, scammers will say “Go to Instagram”, but don’t! Most lost pets are networked on Facebook & Nextdoor app. *Go in person to shelters to see if your pet is there & ask shelter(s) if they can help trap if a trapper is not available
