That is very caring of you to get the dog surgery. Have you done the following:
Check PawBoost and see if the pup is posted as LOST. Read through posts back a few weeks.
ALSO:
❌IMPORTANT: File a found pet report with your local animal services agency. You should be able to do this on their webpage, with a photo, and browse through their lost pet logs.
❌Have the dog scanned for a microchip at a vet or a shelter. If a microchip is found, it is your obligation to deliver the pup to your local animal control agency to have them try to contact the owner and return the pet.
❌Post on various online other lost/found pet forums on Facebook, Craigslist and NextDoor, if possible.
❌If you are fostering, make a “found pet” poster (free in PawBoost) and make copies, posting them around your neighborhood. 80% of lost pets are found within ONE mile of home, so check your local area and speak with neighbors.
