Suggestions for a Lost Cat: ***Most importantly, your cat is probably very close to your home. If not around your home, then on a neighbors property. I just read of a cat hiding in his neighbors garage. Cats really don't go far, but he'll be scared, even of you. So call his name softly, jingle the bag or box of his favorite treats, and use a flashlight when looking for him. And leave a door or window cracked a bit so he has a way to get in if he makes it back home by himself. (These are repeats of the suggestions below but these are the most important things). (And one more thing, in your PawBoost post, there's an option to have your post go directly into NextDoor in case you haven't done that already). Suggestions... Put a scent station outside your house. Your cat's favorite blanket or pet bed, your worn but not washed clothes. Look under all spaces like under decks, under parked, cars, also in bushes, in sheds and garages, and any other place a cat can hide. And ask your neighbors to do this too. The best times are dusk and dawn. Use a flashlight to catch the gleam of your cat's eyes. Hang LOTS of flyers, with: "Lost Cat", Big picture of your cat, your phone number. You can buy a box of heavy duty plastic sleeves from Office Depot and put the flyers in them upside down. That way if it rains your flyers will be protected. Staple gun them to wooden utility poles. I don't think the city will take them down. If you can, leave your garage or door cracked so if he/she decides to come back he can come in. A lot of cats show up a few days later. Put your cat on Petcolovelost. If he/she is chipped you can do a search by chip number. You can also do a search using Face Recognition. You can search under "Found" because it scans tons of shelters and people posting about found pets. Also post in PawBoost, Ring, etc.

Is he posted on NextDoor and Petcolovelost? If he's not, put the post on NextDoor, and open a petcolovelost account and list him as missing. This is the link to petcolovelost: if you list him as lost, they'll send you emails trying to match him with found cats. Get out calling Kitty's name especially early and late when it's quiet. Search high and low with a flashlight. Put up posters with number large enough to be seen while driving. And post on next door.
