Linda Rosenbery did you try putting out his litter box? That may attract him. My cats stay indoors but I respect each owners decision. Personally if I see a collar on a cat then I believe his owner knows he is out. Otherwise I end up trying (and have) rescue them if they don't look well

It is the start of the weekend, and I'm going to take everyone's great ideas and going full in on the hunt for Cole. I'm going to cut up one of my worn pj t-shirts into little patches and place them in the alley behind my house to guide him home. I'll keep the dryer running on and off with his bedding. I have more flyers I will place in on doors a bit farther out than the ones I distributed on Mon (Mar 18). I am so baffled about this really. Never misplaced a cat, but am learning quickly how common it is. It has been the kindness of all of the great folks who are responding here that keeps me going. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
