JAY is adorable. Now let’s find him. He will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off his eyes and makes it easier to locate him. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place he may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. He may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling his name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if he has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten him micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again he can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

Hoping you find this puss😕❤️ Go out looking for her/him at night when it’s quiet. Call and listen! for them to call back. Go down laneways etc too - they could be trapped in a garage, injured & hiding, scared… Knock on doors & talk to people on the street - they may know of her/him - someone may have taken them in. Post on All Neighbourhood social media sites. Put up posters - drop as flyers in mailboxes. File a LOST report with Toronto/other Animal Services in case they end up there - continue to check their listings! Continue to call - they won’t necessarily call you. Also, check their ‘deceased animals’ listings 🥲 ⭐️⭐️Consider setting a well-monitored live trap in your yard. He may be too scared to come out but may be able to be trapped.⭐️⭐️ You may catch other critters that will need to be released. Keep looking! Don’t give up on her/him .🥰

Go out around 2AM with smelly food or treats and call softly for him. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Post lots of signs. Also a good idea to stick notes through your neighbour’s door or mailbox for them to check their properties.

Shared. Note that TWO days is a long time to a cat, this longer. If you have not yet done ALL these things, do them now. If you have, do them again and go further in your search. Notify Vaughan Animal Services and check their website for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies in garages, sheds, basement etc. IF he's an intact male he may have chased females in heat and have trouble finding his way back home. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot him searching for food. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters. Put a notice in nearby neighbours mailboxes, post on local notices boards, in community centres, churches and schools. Go out after dark bring food and treats, search a 5+ block radius, stop periodically and softly call but do not make any loud noises or sudden moves. Lost cats are terrified and do not recognize their owner as safe.

She/he could easily have ventured further than normal from being scared off from either prey or loud noises pushing her/him away from where it’s familiar. Try going outside their usual perimeter and placing things that smell of home (like shreds of a blanket or shirt, or vacuum bag contents) trailing back to your area that she/he knows.
