Hi everyone owner of Benji here and I just wanted to say thank you for everyone and anyone who spread the word out and gave helpful tips for finding,but I have found Benji around the early morning.He is now safe and sound. All thanks for the support, it means a lot from my community.

Make sure your cat is really missing. Recently in a 2-week time frame there were five people thought their cats were lost and they were all later found in the house, including one that was found in a cabinet 3 days later that was hardly used. Make sure you check behind furniture under furniture, dresser, drawers, cabinets, closets, etc. When my daughter's cat was a kitten 18 years ago, everyone thought he somehow got out since he was nowhere around about an hour before dusk. We looked all over until we couldn't see anymore and came back in the house. My granddaughter went in her dresser drawer and there was the kitten among her scarves in her bottom dresser drawer. He must have gotten in there from the back of the dresser. A few months ago, my cat disappeared for 24 hours after my granddaughter left. He's a scaredy cat and usually comes out when she leaves. However, this time he didn't come out when it was dinner time right after she left nor his breakfast. The next morning. I was getting full of anxiety and trying to figure out Where he might be and if he was dead somewhere since he was not responding like behind a washer etc. I was trying to figure out how he might even been able to get out when I am very extra cautious. I was going crazy and finally my daughter and son-in-law came over 24 hours later and start moving my heavy furniture. I was losing hope and then when my son-in-law moved my last heavy dresser that was above his head. All the sudden my cat came running from behind it under my bed. He must have been very scared to hide for 24 hours. When I turn my back and said goodbye to my daughter and son-in-law he was gone again but I knew this time he probably went back to his spot behind the heavy dresser so I rattled it and he came out. Finally, he decided to stay out. These cats can be little Houdini's.

Worn piece of clothing often works well on your porch as well as inside the garage as I mentioned earlier near the opening. It would also be good to post on neighbor's ring app which covers a three plus mile radius of your location and alerts. People that have the app. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so it would be good to focus on a one to two block radius of your home, especially at Dawn dusk and feeding time shaking a bag of cat treats or cat food vigorously to help attract Your cat's attention if it's nearby and bring a flashlight with you to help catch a glimpse of its eyes. If it's near. Make sure while you're in this area you check trees shrubbery window wells especially under decks and porches Where cats are often found and ask your neighbors to check their shed and garage where cats are also often found. Flyers are very important. They are best put in a zip gallon bag that is upside down to protect from the elements. It was just recently that both the dog and a cat were reunited by flyers alone since the people that found the animals did not have social media. If you adopted from a rescue, they usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. If your cat has a microchip, it's good to make sure your contact information is up to date so you can be contacted if your cat is found. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so time is of the essence. Make sure your cat is not hiding in the garage in a closet in a dresser, drawer or behind furniture which often happens. I've heard of a few cats returning home the past few years when the owner left their garage open about 5 inches with a worn piece of clothing on the inside of the garage near the opening to help attract the cat if it comes close back to home but not too wide. So you do not attract unwanted animals. It's good if you go check outside on your block around Dawn and dusk with a flashlight looking in shrubbery and under decks and porches to hopefully catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes if it is close by. Usually cats are scared when they first leave home and might not even respond to you. So the flashlight might come in handy to catch a glimpse of the eyes. It's also good to check your local animal control in person daily because things change very often and best in person. It's also good to check local rescues and shelters in your area daily. Put clothes with your scent outside and check bushes and trees with a flashlight at night shake bag of treats or dry food and call it's name

Put some of your worn clothes & empty contents of vacuum outside for smell. Leave Benji’s food & water out. Go out at night with a flashlight & check under decks, porches, cars, up trees, bushes, window wells, in & around garages for Glowing Eyes! Check Ring Cams & neighbors for blocks! They generally stay close by! Call PD & let them know he’s missing & check shelters! The more people looking the better & don’t give up🙏
