This pretty gal showed up at one of my feeding spots. Very hungry, very vocal but obviously nervous & scared like she isn't used to being/living outside. Definitely not a feral cat. She's either lost or newly abandoned. I've been feeding her in the same spot for a few days now so she's staying put where she is now. She's must feel safe cuz she has kinda taken over the spot where two of my other strays reside and eat. Even tho my guys are very kind to other cats I had to make up another feeding area for them cuz she has become a little protective of her new space. She is very focal and screeches a lot when I arrive with the food and she seems somewhat agitated and frantic to eat. It's sad really. She lets me pet her a bit while she is eating but I haven't tried to do much more than that. I posted on Nextdoor a few days ago and nothing. So sadly I think she was most likely left behind. Which is even sadder. I care for and feed 20 cats in my area (well, 21 now) and I have taken in 4 others and a mama and her litter of kittens so my small apmt cannot accommodate anymore sweet kitties. Not to mention my dog will protest if I bring more cats home. I feel so bad for her. Well, I feel bad for all the abandoned cats I feed and care for. I have some really nice, sweet cats that are forced to live on the streets. I do what I can but it's not enough. They all deserve better. I hope this is someone's lost kitty.
