MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Ludo is a beloved part of our family and we miss her so much. She is our youngest daughter's cat but always has lots of love and biscuits for everyone. She is an indoor cat who enjoys watching the sparrows, running to the fridge when the treat bag is taken out, and snoozing in strange positions on *her* sofa and the "dog" bed. She has kitty playdates with her brother, tests high quality food and treat samples, walks on a leash, and is absolutely in love with our 85lb rescue mutt. The sudden absence of her quick greetings to all who come through the front door and her soft but persistent voice is painful beyond words. If you see any sign of her, good news or bad, please reach out to us.

Look close by. Indoor kitties tend to find a safe place to hide quickly. Under and over, up and down

You can also call Animal Services and ask for a live trap. They sell them at Canadian Tire and some other stores too. Put some very tasty food like warmed canned tuna inside the trap. Place the trap in a shady area out of the wind. Please check it every few hours - and hopefully it will help you catch your sweetie. Oh and consider buying a motion sensor camera. It would help you see if he's coming around at night or if other territorial cats are claiming your backyard area.

Go out and take her favorite treats and call. Ask your neighbors to check their garages - sheds - under stairs - decks and bushes. She's probably hiding somewhere close and feeling scared and confused. Ask your neighbors to check more than once - cats are very good at hiding. Check at night late when it's quiet as that's when she may feel safer to come out. Put out some of your worn clothes. The scent will help her find home. Go out at night when it's quiet and take her favorite treats. Call her softly and listen for soft meows back - especially near garages and sheds she may have become trapped inside. Take a flashlight and look under bushes and other hiding places for reflective cat eyes. Ask your family and friends to help you make posters and put them up all over your neighborhood - especially near stores and your community center. Call Veterinary clinics and animal shelters in case someone brought her in or called about spotting her. Post on YYC site too - they have a very large following. Don't give up - keep looking especially at night. I hope you find her soon. I'm sharing. Please post in YYC group too. They have a very large following. The more people looking for your kitty the better.

Put the litter box outside and a piece of your unwashed clothing. Check the City of Calgary lost cats website. Ask neighbors to check their garages, decks and under stairs. After dark, take out a bag of treats, shake the bag calling her name. Post on YYC Pet Recovery and your community newsletter.
