Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scaredļæ¼ and hungry out on his own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. šŸ”¦ Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further way. šŸ“£Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent.ļæ¼ Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find him, PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who don’t like them in their yard. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. šŸˆā€ā¬› Cats get into trouble when they’re allowed to go outside unattended. Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy , before the NYE’s noises scare him further away, šŸ¾šŸ’™šŸ¾

Tips for missing cats that helped many cats to be found before Hopefully it would help Put unwashed cloth with familiar scent of someone he/she attached to he/she can smell the scent of it Check with your neighbors garages and sheds maybe he’s/she’s hiding there Go look for him/her outside when it’s more quiet, take some snacks or dry food and shake it and call him/her naturally like you call him/her at home to eat or play, look under cars and bushes when you looking for him/her, post on NExtdoor app/Facebook groups and put flyers in your area not everyone on social media Remember cats don’t roam far usually from their territory, so most chances he’s/she’s hiding around till he/she feels safe to come out ! There’s a great video here for finding lost cats https://fb.watch/bZXagY25IV/ ā—¦

I hope that you have notified and are checking daily at your local animal shelter! And have you asked all your neighbors to check their garages, sheds, etc. in case your cat got closed inside one? Keep calmly calling your cat at all hours, especially the wee hours! And keep looking for your cat, using a flashlight to help see its eyes…Check all around your house and all small dark places & under a deck, stairs, greenery! šŸ¤žšŸ¼ļæ¼

. I also hope that these tips help. Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soonšŸ™šŸˆā€ā¬›ā¤ļø don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime. And if your kitty hasn’t returned after any rain hit they will probably bunker down somewhere safe out of the rain also so you might want to keep that in mind too. But hopefully your kitty will return before that.
