Message from Owner

Hi everyone, my cat Nala has been missing since yesterday afternoon. She was last seen in Boddington Gardens, between Acton Town Station and Gunnersbury Park. Nala is a Bengal-looking brown/golden cat with very distinctive dark spots/rosettes, striped legs and tail, and green eyes. She is microchipped. She is friendly, but she can be very shy with people she doesn’t know, and she gets very stressed in unfamiliar places, so she may be hiding nearby and too scared to come out. Please could neighbours check gardens, sheds, garages, balconies, bats, under cars, bins, side passages and any small enclosed spaces where she may have got trapped or hidden? If you see her, please do not chase her or try to grab her, as she may run further away. If possible, please take a photo and message me straight away on Nextdoor with the exact location and time. We are extremely worried about her and would be so grateful if everyone nearby could keep an eye out. Thank you so much.

Notify the identichip company, check your details are up to date. Notify immediate Vets in your area. Your familiar voice calling when it is dark and silent outside, it may take her a little time to respond if she has wandered a way, but sound travels further in the quiet of the night. If it’s unusual behaviour, ask neighbours’ to check thoroughly their garages and outbuildings for her.

You may have done some of this already, but if not, it might be worth putting some leaflets with a photo through the doors of houses/flats in nearby roads to home. Many people don’t walk around their local area and some don’t go out a great deal so they might not realise a visiting cat in their garden is a missing one. Plus, posters at the railway stations, bus stops, and newsagents. A poster at the station worked for me. Mine was found after 10 days, so don’t give up hope. Also if you have any used cat litter, (or bedding), spread bits of it around your borders outside, (not the tray). Cats can pick up their scent from some distance. I hope your cat is back home with you soon.🙏🤞🐾

Think like a cat. Back gardens are their roads and highways. Remember ‘Carbonel’. Puss may be locked in somewhere and not everyone sees Facebook. Please put leaflets through letterboxes, on your block and the one opposite, with a photo and a mobile number, asking people to check their sheds and outbuildings. The WHOLE BLOCK. Many people who work full time and drive do not walk past lampposts and see posters, so leaflets are best and have a greater reach. A mobile number is excellent because people can text you to say ‘Puss was in my garden at No 14 last night’. Good luck!
