🏡🐈‍⬛VERY IMPORTANT TIP🐈🏡 If your kitty is outdoors, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR GARAGE DOOR CRACKED OPEN about 6 inches 24/7 so your cat can enter a SAFE PLACE AT HOME anytime. Put smelly, fishy cat food just inside the open garage door, but only leave it out during the day. Please go walking around your house and street with a flashlight at Dawn and Dusk, calling and searching for your kitty. They’re less afraid to come out of hiding when it’s dark. A major finding of a study cited the importance of an active physical search!!59% of cats were found alive because their people pounded the pavement and actually searched under bushes looking for them. That’s critical because many people rely solely on passive methods, such as posting signs or asking their neighbors to keep an eye out, hoping someone will see their cat and call them. That’s not enough. Never forget that whenever cats are outdoors, they will hide, hide, hide. For self protection. If a kitten gets outdoors, it is a lot more vulnerable because it’s not fearful yet, and doesn’t realize it needs to hide for self protection. Cats will usually not go very far if they can find good hiding spots at home or closeby, like under bushes, cars or under anything where they feel safe from danger. Male cats might wander further than female cats. You absolutely need to walk around your yard and walk at least 3-4 houses away ASAP looking for your kitty and calling their name out loud repeatedly. This encourages your cat to stay close by because they are hearing your familiar voice. Sooner or later they should come out of hiding, especially when they get hungry and thirsty!! Be aware that coyotes roam many New Hanover County neighborhoods at night seeking prey. They hang out along the large creeks and its tributaries in the daytime and they hunt in nearby neighborhoods at night. Never leave your cat outdoors when it’s dark outside in New Hanover County and surrounding counties. And never give up hope of finding your kitty❣️ ****KEEP CALLING, SEARCHING & TALKING TO NEIGHBORS**** Prayers you find your kitty very soon!!🙏🙏🌸💕💕
