Quibulah Brittain yes, the county has their specific protocol that has to be followed. If the couple who found him just gave him back, they’d be in serious trouble. They have him so he didn’t get sick at the shelter or scared

Michael McGregor that is exactly right and thank you for all you did for the dog. Fortunately, the official process is in place for the safety of the dog and luckily this dog gets to be in a safe home while waiting for the owner to claim him instead of in a crowded shelter. You went above and beyond. Hopefully, when he goes back to the owners they will get him chipped because if they wouldn’t have figured out where he was thanks to you rescue would have pulled him (especially cuz of the breed) right after stray hold was up and he could have been adopted.

Your dog is red not brown. Someone found a similar looking dog. Fulton County Animal Control is where the dog they found is registered. Hopefully your dog is microchipped.
