Loree Moricz that's a budgie, not a lovebird

Glad you found it!! These little guys need to be kept quite warm as they are tropical and cannot survive outside right now.

Logan Militzer -well done! He sounds healthy and you are good foster parents. Hope you find the owner. Little birds like these will not last long outdoors. The crows or other wild birds would attack it. Chances are he is from your neighbourhood and not from afar. If a potential owner reports a lovebird missing from 2 months ago from Delta, be wary. No way they would survive that long and fly that distance.

Donella Lynn been keeping on eye on him his cage is covered with a blanket. He is energetic when awake but after a while he likes to take it easy and sleep for a while. He’s been going to bed around 830pm both nights so far and wakes up around 8. Then he plays around in the cage and then we let him fly around for a few hours. He often naps throughout the day

Important - the lovebird could be stressed from being outdoors. If he/she is puffed out and sleeping a lot, immediately cover the cage/box with a warm blanket and a heat lamp between 27-30C (I use an electric blanket under the cage) to create an incubator environment. They go downhill fast. I am a lovebird owner and familiar with this breed. They need a warm quiet environment to recover and survive. Feed with spray millet or birdseed if you have it. If not cooked rice, lettuce, apple, cooked oatmeal are good substitutes.

Warning - be cautious who reaches out to claim the bird. I just had a couple of scammers claim they were the owners of a cockatiel we rescued, and upon further investigation, they actually owned an aviary and sell birds online. Ask for photos of them with their pet bird to verify rightful ownership. Many con artists trying to make a quick buck.
