What to do if you find a Cat
1. Please give the cat some food and water.
2. See if the cat has tags. If so, owner can be traced through rabies or microchip tag.
3. If you can safely transport, please take to your nearest vet, Pet Store or shelter to have checked for a microchip.
4. If no ID on cat, post on nextdoor and the Ring Neighbor app.
5. Post on pawboost. You can download a free flyer here.
6. Make a found report to all local shelters
7. Post on PetFBI site.
.org is the ending for that site.
8. Post on FB Lost & Found Groups and your Neighborhood group if there is one.
9. If you cannot hold onto for a day or two while searching for the owner, please arrange for the local shelter to take. The cat will go through a legal stray hold if not claimed. This is a last resort as the cat may belong to a neighbor. Some areas allow cats to roam under the TNR ordinance and some do not.
10. If no owner comes forward and you can keep the cat, even better.Read More
