I would first talk with Ijams about this dog - they may know about it & who it belongs to. There are neighborhoods nearby along Island Home. Would be great to walk around that neighborhood with the dog & talk with neighbors! The Ijams property would be a big draw for a pet to wander in! It's essential to post fliers along there, & in the neighborhood area along Island Home, south of Ijams. This may all have been done already. If it's a sweet dog, they must be kind owners! ~~~ Young Williams Animal Center has notebooks for both Lost and Found pets, including location info & photos. Look through the Found notebook & put your flier in the Found notebook. This can help! I hope for the best results for reuniting dog & owner!

Thanks for the advice! More info - this disheveled, unkempt sweetheart was found near the quarry at IJAMS (South Knoxville) and may have been abandoned. Supports are limited due to time found. Seems very sweet although fearful - watch Young-Williams website for this possible addition.

If able, try posting on the local Nextdoor app (if possible), lost .petcolove .org and watching craigslist. If you post to other groups, be sure to add the county, city and state to your posting since the posting may be shared nationally. Also, take flyers to shelters and vet offices with a photo and report the pet found. They have a board for both lost and found pets. Remember, not everyone is on Social Media. (IF able, try taking to a vet to check for a microchip too. Ask for proof of ownership by either vet records or a picture from the phone.)
