Message from Owner

Please help us bring our sweet girl home. She is an indoor cat and has never been gone this long, so we believe she is scared and hiding nearby. We miss her so much and are heartbroken…. If you find her please notify me.

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap on amazon, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street and wouldnt let anyone near her. I saw she kept coming around the doors at night and if i didnt have other pets, i would have left the door cracked and that may have solved it. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

Mary Katherine Gillan my daughter’s vet told her to do this. She did this and they finally got her home pregnant but home. Every evening at dusk she sat on the front porch with wet cat food and called her.

Awww, she's beautiful. Indoor cats that get outside don't usually go far. She's probably scared and hiding/seeking shelter nearby. Keep checking under nearby porches, decks, shrubs and in garages and sheds. Best times to search and call for her are dusk and dawn. Keep putting her food, water, and something with her scent on it outside your door to help her find her way back. Each day in late afternoon/early evening, put canned tuna/fishy canned cat food outside your door and watch for her. The fishy food is important because they can smell it from farther away and hopefully she will come out from wherever she's hiding. You may want to try setting a humane trap with fishy canned cat food in it. The fishy food and a trap is how I finally got my cat back when he was lost last summer. I believe you can borrow a trap from Humane Ohio on Alexis Road or you can order online. Let your neighbors and mail carrier know that she's missing so they can be on the lookout for her. Put flyers up in the area. Post on Sylvania/Toledo Lost and Found Pet page to get the word out. Sending prayers for your sweet girl to be safe and home very soon.
