Large female pit bull-type dog has been in the area for several hours near Kreth Road and Bannister. She appears scared and is barking at passersby, so please use caution. Food and water have been provided, and a 311 report has been submitted. If this is your dog, or if you know the owner, please send me a message. The dog is not approachable at this time, so I am not attempting to contain or handle her. I am posting in hopes of locating the owner, as I am concerned for both the dog’s well-being and the safety of the neighborhood. This post is being shared across multiple local groups.

💗UPDATE 💗 After spending time earning her trust, we were able to safely secure Mama dog. We also discovered she had a puppy with her—a surprise we didn’t know about when the original post was made. Both dogs are now safe and in our care. They have been examined by a veterinarian, scanned for microchips (none found), vaccinated, and are receiving plenty of food, rest, and love. We have reported them as found and have continued searching for an owner through PawBoost, social media, and local lost-and-found groups. At this time, no owner has come forward. We are still happy to hear from anyone who may have information about these dogs or their history. Thank you to everyone who shared the original post and helped get these two to safety. 💕
