Regarding indoor only cats, stellar cat recovery experts recommend leaving the door that they escaped from cracked open at night and turning out all lights...inside and outside and keeping things very quiet. If they are frightened and in survival mode, they will come out to try to return home when it is dark and quiet. MANY escaped indoor kitties have returned home this way. If not possible to crack the door or window that they escaped from, crack the garage door. If they escaped from.a window, you may need to place a table under the window.
