You can try to lure him home by putting laundry with your scent on it and your catâs bed outside. ***Also, walk or drive slowly around the neighborhood with a favorite squeaky toy, treats and smelly food that he likes while calmly calling his name. Someone walked the same route for a few days and their cat found them! Maybe your dog will find you.
Let neighbors know heâs missing and ask them to look out for him. Distribute flyers to neighbors, mail carrier, delivery drivers, trash collectors.
If you havenât already please report him missing to local police, animal welfare, shelters and veterinary clinics in and around your area. Itâs better to visit animal control and shelters in person and ask to see the dogs being held. Check back with them daily because some shelters only hold strays for a few days, AND THEY WILL THEN BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.
